@FawcettAdrian Interested in your perspective about this, as a stroke neurologist who always sticks around the angio suite - am I in the way? I like to be available for questions, discussion with anaesthesia, teaching, etc. Also just generally like to see what happens with our patient!
…CAN, US (Wave II), and AUS swimming trials next week…thank you, strategic week off work. Also, don’t forget the name “Summer McIntosh” - you heard it here first, Canada 🇨🇦 @CBCOlympics

The ACT trial results are out. TNK is not inferior to rtPA at achieving excellent functional outcomes without significant safety issues. #ESOC2022@SVINJournal@StrokeAHA_ASA
…sometimes everything just “clicks” - what was initially a trauma recognized as possible LVO by @BC_EHS - onset to reperfusion 1h45m with NIHSS 18➡️3 on the table post-EVT. @VanIslandHealth stroke care in action - proud to be part of this team!
I teach that whenever you hear a colleague refer to a stroke as a "CVA" -- you can be certain that they know nothing about stroke!
Well done @sashkind@kevinmd !

Proud and thankful to see this work from my fellowship at @Stanford_Neuro published in @JSCVD2 - HIR is but one piece of the puzzle, but part of the growing armamentarium to help guide patient selection/transfer. #stroketwitter https://t.co/ERybhv29MV
A study conducted by the Stanford Stroke Center shows patients with hand & arm weakness after stroke can benefit from using a virtual reality gaming device. https://t.co/DePXtrlUq3 #stroke#neurology#virtualreality
…there will always be false +/-…but, I see a lot of young stroke patients, and they are particularly prone to this bias - just last week a young stroke survivor cried in my clinic telling me how she was passed off as drunk and in fact she was d/c’d 2x with a cerebellar stroke.
…week off work and it’s CAN, USA, AUS trials this week - I can’t be the only one streaming on multiple devices and annoying their significant other with swim commentary? #swammer#SwimTrials21@swimswamnews@SwimmingCanada

@FawcettAdrian@AlexMuccilli@THP_hospital That’s awesome, I will! We are 🤞rolling out telestroke soon to our referring sites, but I secretly want it at our 2nd local hospital (think TGH setup, with CCU/CVICU/complex ICU but no neurology/stroke), and then eventually our Neuro/NSx site. Congrats!
Are there community sites that do telestroke in their own ED? We don’t have on-site stroke attendings/residents overnight…bet we’d be more likely to be 📞, and decisions/DTN would be faster if we could consult via telestroke #stroketwitter#neurotwitter https://t.co/Siw5Xg4ntI
💯 - an idea of the eventual destination is great but clear guidance about how to safely get there when fully-vaccinated is necessary. Might also help with any residual pre-2nd (or 1st) dose hesitancy?
3/ Said another way...the vaccines are very effective (but of course not 100% perfect) & will help us return to doing things we once did.
Practical & science-based individual-level guidance during this interim period where a growing # in 🇨🇦 are fully vaccinated would be helpful.
