Partick Thistle signing Oisin Smyth and Euan Henderson on 2 year deals is a real statement.
Adding them as well as Josh Clarke and Ben McPherson permanently is some way to begin the transfer window.
Their recruitment lately has been impressive! π§πͺ
So, thoughts on last night's game at Firhill.
At the game itself I felt a draw was probably a fair reflection of what unfolded, with Saints the better team first half, and Thistle certainly having the edge in the second.
Watching the highlights back this morning though it's also fair to say Thistle did create the best chances of the game outwith the two goals that were scored, even if they didn't really work Sinclair as much as they probably should have.
The Jags are a good side and I'd probably also say they are a proper "team" where the whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts.
Saints still with too many square pegs in round holes for me personally, but end of the day a raft of injuries has taken it's toll on a squad that simply doesn't have strength in depth to cope.
Only 5 of the players who started the cup final at Hampden in December started the game last night and 2 of those 5 were playing in positions completely alien to them.
No excuses though, we now have a straight shootout at home on Monday night with a place in the Premiership on the line, and if we can't take that then we will fully deserve the consequences.
Thought the atmosphere in the ground was tremendous as was the display by the Jags fans.
Onwards then to Monday night, tie very much up in the air.
