Darumi’s trauma in KG is so heartbreaking. Hiruko and Tsubasa both manipulate Darumi through attention/affection, but with a genuine desire to keep her alive. It’s so morally grey. KG Darumi is never able to deal with her past. She just overrides her suffering through obsession.
@wormtrice Darumi’s characterization is so important in KG. She wanted so badly to die, but only in a way that would save the people she cared about. KG shows that even at her most obsessed, she never changes who she is at her core. She immersed herself in the game, but never lost herself.
@HirukoHints Gotta say both. She’s an avid appreciator of the arts in general, so what better passtime for her than one that lets her enjoy the art form while emotionally eviscerating others?
Fantastic artists I follow are making HNDR and Ace Attorney crossover art, and I’m feeling the urge to drop everything and sketch Franziska w Hiruko and Gumshoe w Takemaru.
Is there a term for these accomplished artist smurf accounts that pop up here suddenly and anonymously, drop a bunch of fantastic art for your favorite characters or ship - then suddenly go completely inactive after a few months, never to post again?
Artistic drive-by?
Takumi was supposed to be Compliant Lazy Guy until Karua fell into the mix, giving him the capacity to care deeply for others. His compassion, on top of experiencing R0’s heavy betrayal, makes him a deeply compelling character. He’s also a moron which gives him infinite potential
@HirukoHints This is the crux of their dynamic, and it’s just so enjoyable to see them banter like it’s some kind of verbal swordplay —cornering the other into a stalemate or submission.
@HirukoHints You can make an argument that HNDR is solely a tragedy, that the SDU deserve peace through death, and that Nozomi carries their legacies — but I feel like HNDR should be looked at through the lens of death of the author: your canon ending is the one that speaks to you most.
