I am deeply sorrowful to hear about the passing of Hawa Moseray, our senior state house correspondent. Hawa was not only a dedicated professional but also a cherished member of our family. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, and may her gentle soul find eternal peace.
@julius_maadabio Hawa, you went too soon. Your departure without farewell words is devastating. Your news came as a big storm with no warning. You will be missed. Tears are flowing, the heart feeling so wounded. Feeling really devastated. Did I say rest in peace, Hawa? No way. Please wake up sis
Thank @@Sylvia. Sierra Leone, we are becoming impatient. Justice for Sia, please. She was to be in the United States today and an insecured boyfriend allegedly murdered her. Why?
Justice for Sia. No woman deserves to die in the hands of a man she once knew as her buddy and a Spouse. Sierra Leone, please allow justice to put a stop to this. She was a promising young lady and allegedly got killed by her Spouse. Why?
.@WHO managed to reach South Kordofan’s Abu Jubayhah region of #Sudan for the first time this year to deliver emergency health supplies to help meet the urgent health needs of internally displaced people.
We also distributed emergency health supplies to 18 health facilities and 5 stabilization centers in North Kordofan State.
Very concerned about the situation in Sudan. Almost 14.7 million people are in need of aid, but 70% are in inaccessible areas with limited humanitarian reach. The once agriculturally rich country faces calamitous hunger that is dangerously approaching famine for almost 5 million people.
Many hospitals in conflict-affected areas are already out of service, and outbreaks of cholera, malaria, dengue and measles are being reported.
Meanwhile, civilians are caught up, and often targeted, in the raging conflict that continues to claim lives and destroy livelihoods.
The clock is ticking for millions of people in Sudan. @WHO calls for sustained and safe access of humanitarian aid into all areas of the country, and an immediate ceasefire.
🚨 Women and girls in #Sudan have endured too much.
What they need more than anything is peace.
