@Koodiak@FFBehavior 22% fall through a roof. A ten second google search revealed that. I do agree, the mayday data on this doesnโt lie. But it does reveal a belief that I hold- Ventilation is scary to any fireman who hasnโt done it.
@HolaFireMedic@JimGolondzinier Aerial assuming Eng left the truck a spot- bearing walls are safe. Look at almost every fire no matter how bad the roof, the area above the wall is intact. And the fire wall there is always a clear delineation IDโing itโs presence. Know your construction. Trust your judgement.
@JimGolondzinier Iโll walk that bearing wall all day. Maybe not on this fire. It was different. But def ID the firewall and get some holes in from there. ESP if itโs an ADU. We need to do a better job of IDโng those from the street. Burned garage door? Smoke from the edges of door? If not man dr
@JimGolondzinier The Fresno video is an example of what not to do. Improper path of travel, poor sounding on a well involved garage. Initial indecision on whether to go up or not. But we know the outcome, so some will say itโs QBโing. Hips and ridge with fire below you is a loser. Bearing walls.
