@FondOfBeetles@DHShades@charlesarthur Sadly the person you're replying to appears to be mentally ill. I however learned from and appreciated your tweet.
@CarefulTweeter@hecubian_devil Calling it a smear suggests it is false. But a Stonewall UK staffer previously ran a public workshop "Overcoming the Cotton Ceiling", criticism of which led to Allison Bailey employment tribunal.
@lover_chiefs@Martina what's your point? if the school doesn't offer a girls team for football (none do) then girls are allowed to play on the boys team. otherwise they wouldn't have equal opportunity, violating Title IX
@Rongwrong_ The topic of function or purpose or plan in evolutionary biology is challenging! But isn't it pervasive in, for example, medicine? An individual's heart or eye is not "functioning" as it is "supposed" to. It is not a problem unique to reproductive biology.
@Rongwrong_ The facts of human sexual reproduction are absolutely causally connected to the facts about evolutionary ancestors sexual reproduction in highly relevant ways, yes!
@Rongwrong_@briandavidearp A young male clownfish is not female because he hasn't started down that development pathway yet, and there's no guarantee it will happen, it being dependent as you say on the environment.
@Rongwrong_@briandavidearp I think in the case of human babies, the "plan" is due to their gonads having differentiated into testes or ova, and the typical downstream consequences of that. It is compatible with an individual not producing sperm in the future.
@briandavidearp How does this hold up when you take in to account all of the other evolved sexually reproducing species whose members are not persons? Can sex be anything but gametes?
