🧵🚨 Hidden UN App Preinstalled on Samsung Phones: Your Tax Dollars at Work
Thank you @MrsDrLinda for the tip.
Did you know your Samsung phone might be quietly running a United Nations app you didn't ask for?
It's called Samsung Global Goals, and it's preinstalled by default on some Samsung Galaxy devices. Yes, really.
Let’s break it down. 👇
@sama A small but meaningful UX improvement: let ChatGPT recognise the difference between a disposable one‑off query and a sustained dialogue. Single‑shot prompts could auto‑archive in a discrete drawer—still searchable, yet out of the way—while multi‑turn workstreams stay pinned with an optional model summary. When a later prompt touches an archived topic, the original thread could resurface with its context intact. Cleaner sidebar, uninterrupted focus. cc @nickaturley@willdepue@bradlightcap
@DataRepublican There are NGOs that are on the “right” that act the same way as then”left” NGOs
The flaw in the rational is the illusion of “right and left” it’s the elites and the plebs. The elites use NGOs to control the masses who believe in the theater of right and left
I don't usually get personal, but I need to say this.
Not long ago, I had 50,000 followers. Now, it's over 700,000. For most people, that would feel like a windfall. It hasn't felt that way for me.
A few weeks ago, I was doxxed. Since then, it's been the most chaotic stretch of my life. Some of the same people I thought I was standing up for chose to side with the person who exposed a gay Deaf man—and who's harmed many other Deaf people—for ideological reasons. That betrayal shook me.
But others stood by me, and their support meant everything.
I had to relocate to another state with my kids, homeschooling them on the fly, just to get clear of the threats. Then the Salt Lake Tribune ran a piece that pulled my husband's distillery into the mess. A viral site followed, pairing the name of his business with a Molotov cocktail cursor.
I've made my own mistakes. I responded to trolls. I got pulled into bad-faith debates over technical minutiae that weren't worth the energy.
I disappeared for a week. Part of that was genuinely because I broke a writer's block. But part of it was just needing space to breathe. I've been incredibly fortunate to have the support here on X, but it's been hard to hold onto that feeling in the middle of so much hostility.
If there's one thing this month gave me, it's a deeper empathy for people who live under this kind of pressure every day. They're human. They're trying to make the world a better place, but they have their own survival to deal with. How they do it, I don't know yet, but I hope to learn from their example.
I don't know why I ended up here, and I've let the past few weeks knock me off balance. I’m sorry for that.
Next up: I'm working on making the FPDS searchable across multiple aggregations and groupings. The prototype is already making me laugh, which feels like progress.
@isaiah_p_taylor The federal government should do fundamental research like this. And use it as an INDEX. Doesn't have to be a toaster, could be a toothpick. How many people are involved? How much red tape? Natural resources? Imports?
I want someone to do a YouTube experiment called “making a toaster in the US vs China”
Start with $10m in each country and try to make a new toaster brand.
For New Toaster USA and New Toaster China, publicly detail the BOM in each business, and show the process of procuring it from vendors. Timelines, costs, what it’s like to work within the industry.
Then make a manufacturing line. Get the real estate, secure the permits, hire the people, start selling.
I think that it will become very obvious very fast that “cheaper labor” has absolutely nothing to do with the difference in timeline, cost and outcome
i think we will look back in 25 years and realize that we misallocated time, talent, and capital at an absurd magnitude
we built unicorns solving lazy problems like food delivery
all while since 2000, US steel production has dropped 34% (108M tons to 71M tons), we lost 5.8M manufacturing jobs, and China now produces 57% of global steel vs our 4%
Why have leftist politicians moved further Left while those on the Right have moved towards the Left?
Because politics is essentially a Leftist activity - control, regulation, coercion.
That’s why political power corrupts - it is a corrupting activity.
🚨 Conservative influencers are selling their souls to soda lobbyists—for a few extra bucks—to keep soda on SNAP.
Anyone backing this is not MAHA.
They’re anti-health, anti-truth, and anti-kids.
It’s time to expose the grifters trying to hijack the MAHA movement.

Congress has plenary authority to establish the jurisdiction of Article III judges. For decades, Congress has failed to exercise that power. Unelected judges should not be allowed to make spending decisions. Or to substitute their judgment for that of the President in his rightful exercise of executive authority. Nor should any judge’s authority extend beyond the borders of the district in which he/she serves. Dear Congress: Reclaim to yourselves the constitutional responsibility for establishing the jurisdiction and extent of authority of the federal judicial branch. That is your obligation. The constitutional crisis being manufactured by these leftist trial courts must be addressed. Not impeachment. Exercise your Actual legislative authority to define jurisdiction of the Article III judges. It. Is. Time. @SpeakerJohnson@BasedMikeLee@chiproytx@mrddmia@seanmdav@MZHemingway@elonmusk@StephenM@RapidResponse47@DonaldJTrumpJr@realDonaldTrump
There should be a name for this.
It doesn't describe setting up a strawman, so it's not that, but it is a variety of confusion that's common enough to deserve a name.
@cremieuxrecueil I call it “whataboutery”.
The inability to argue about a specific point without bringing another, often unrelated, one.
“SpaceX will take us to Mars”
“Yeah? And what about the kids split at the border?” 🤷♂️
@cremieuxrecueil There is a name for it in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It’s called Concrete Thinking. Concrete thinking takes an idea and makes it exclusively binary. Saying red is my favorite color is exactly the same as saying I hate blue to people that love blue.
