A proper jail-break film, with all the action, thrill, emotional & commercial elements in the right doses. Had absolutely no issues with the run-time. The performances, casting & sound track makes #Jigra worth the cinema watch.

It's one thing to mimic the style and the mannerisms of an industry legend like Big B, but a completely different ball game when you have to justify the dialogues like "Ab Toh Bachchan Banna Hai"; and our protagonist Ms. Bhatt deserves full marks in that area. Satyabhama Anand is a strong-hearted, fearless and determined sister, whose only aim is to bring his brother home. Like Arjun in Mahabharat, her lakshya remains only one, and she will not be afraid of knocking down anyone or anything that comes her way. She won't shy away from getting into a physical brawl with men double her size, with confidence of a tigress. In her body language or non-verbal expressions, #AliaBhatt is the POWERHOUSE of acting-baazi.

#VedangRaina (as Ankur Anand) fully understands the pitch of his character; you can feel the hopelessness on his face for the situation he is trapped in. He is sure to win fans in the coming future.

The antagonist in the form of the ruthless Jailor, is someone whom you would immediately hate.

The commercial aspects mean that there will be some liberties taken, which might be a road block for some cinema-goers looking for realism in the jail sequences. And for those complaining about the predictability of the story, what were you expecting? Did you not know about how it's going to end already. Duh!

#VasanBala's direction & writing reiterates that he is a true Bollywood cinema fan, creating some superb action moments for the big screen. A huge shout out to the BGM and sound design team of the film that never lets the overall energy slip, and keeps it even more pumped during the superbly executed (lengthy) climax.

Borrowing a line that @MyCinemaStory said in one of our recent podcasts - "Koi Bhi Bachchan Ban Sakta" irrespective of gender, height or era, bas JIGRA hona chahiye, and therefore you have the Captain VASAN BALA & ALIA BHATT as The Lady Bachchan in full throttle mode👏👏
