When a child has a fever or a neighbour collapses, this Primary Healthcare Centre in Enugu is the only place this community can run to.
But the PHC looks quiet, like an old building left behind.
See, this is not just about wanting better. It's time for us to get involved, because healthcare is everybody's responsibility. Itโs time to #KnowYourPHC.
To every volunteer, your dedication, compassion, and selflessness are the spark that ignites a brighter world. Thank you for giving your time, energy, and heart to causes that uplift.
We, in partnership with @Wavaorg Women Advocates for Vaccine Access, Africa Health Budget Network (@AHBNetwork ), the Health Sector Reform Coalition of Nigeria @HSRCNg , and other passionate vaccine advocates and Civil Society Organizations, are raising a loud national alarm, a vaccine stockout is looming, and Nigeriaโs children cannot afford even one more day of delay.
Right now, 2025 budgeted immunization funds and outstanding funds from 2024 remain unreleased. And if these funds do not move NOW, over 8 million children could be left unprotected by early December. Eight million futures hanging by a thread all because life-saving vaccines may not be available.
This is not just a funding issue. It is a child survival issue. It is a national credibility issue. It is a โif we donโt act fast, lives will be lostโ issue.
We know the fiscal space is tight, but please Honorable Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun if one investment must not be delayed, it is immunization. A vaccinated child is a child who lives, grows, learns, and contributes to Nigeriaโs future.
The clock is ticking. Diseases are not waiting. Our children cannot wait.
We urgently call on the Federal Ministry of Finance @FinMinNigeria : Release the vaccine funds NOW. Do it for our children. Do it for Nigeria. #ReleaseVaccineFundsNow #nozerodose #SaveOurChildren
