@aedcelectricity@_iffey_xo Estates in Pyakasa area has not seen light for 4 days now. Your staff responsible for the area claimed that they have been tracing the fault without success. What a shame!
Today in Abuja, the National Gender Policy in Agrifood Systems and its Strategic Action Plan was officially launched, marking a significant step toward strengthening gender inclusion in Nigeriaβs agrifood systems.
The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security was represented by the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, who formally unveiled the policy and reaffirmed the Ministryβs commitment to advancing gender equality across Nigeriaβs agrifood systems.
The policy was developed through a participatory and inclusive process, with ActionAid Nigeria working in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and key partners including GIZ, AGRA, and Sahel Consulting, drawing on inputs from stakeholders across the six geopolitical zones.
This milestone reflects a shared commitment to addressing gender inequalities and strengthening the active participation of women and young people across Nigeriaβs agrifood systems.

Imagine trying to grow food without water, storage, or support.
Yet over 90% of the National Agricultural Development Fund is focused on just fertilizer.
Farmers are dealing with:
β’ Poor irrigation
β’ Post-harvest losses
β’ Climate shocks
β’ Limited access to credit
β’ Gaps in women and youth inclusion
Fertilizer alone is not enough.
If we want real food security, we must invest in the full value chain.
We call on @NGRPresident, @VP_Nigeria, @FinMinNigeria, @BudgetITng, @FmardNigeria, @NGfmafs, @OfficialOSGF to urgently diversify agricultural funding and prioritise areas where farmers need the most support.

Over the past two days, stakeholders gathered for the Inception Meeting of the National Council on Agriculture and Food Security (NCAFS) Implementation Monitoring Committee, a critical step toward ensuring that decisions made in Nigeriaβs agriculture sector do not end on paper.
The meeting marked a significant step toward strengthening accountability and improving the implementation of policy decisions in Nigeriaβs agriculture sector.
As part of the Inclusive Food Systems Project, ActionAid Nigeria is proud to support this important milestone aimed at enhancing accountability within Nigeriaβs agriculture sector.
The Committee comprises of key stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, State representatives, Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Small-scale Women Farmers Organisation in Nigeria (SWOFON), and development partners such as ActionAid Nigeria and GIZ, all working together to ensure that approved NCAFS memos are effectively tracked and implemented across national and sub-national levels.
Key outcomes from the meeting include the development of a draft Implementation Tracking Framework, agreement on coordination mechanisms, and the initiation of an operational roadmap for monitoring the implementation of Council decisions.
Together, we are building a stronger system where policy decisions translate into real impact for farmers, women, youth, and vulnerable communities.

@aedcelectricity@legendofwarri The light situation in Abuja is getting increasingly worse. Kristal Court Estate Pyakasa and other surrounding estates now get to see AEDC light less than 37 hours a week. Kudos.
