The engine in my little brother's bike upgrades thermal energy from combustion to mechanical energy. A byproduct is a downgrade of energy in order to satisfy the second law of thermodynamics and increase overall entropy (the exhaust is part of that downgraded energy).

As my family (mainly my little brother) metabolizes soda and cake, the energy is used to yell and scream at video games. Without the energy from the sugar, they would all be sleeping or act normal.

In my container with 4 equal partitions, the entropy increased because the number of microstates increased. The number of microstates increased due to increased number of "particles" (pieces of wood) and ways to arrange them in the container. ("Hi enpatry" as he says)

Elecrical/computer engineers use interference between photons/EM waves to combine two frequencies of light. The guy in the video explains that we can use this for storing information as light (probably quantum computer applications).

I set up two speakers with the same amplitude and frequency. Then I separated them by a small distance. The two sources constructively and destructively interfered to produce nodes and antinodes. If you listen closely you can hear it get quieter and louder.

Nicole-Reine Lepaute 1723-1788
Lepaute was a French astronomer and mathematician. Her and Alexis Clairault predicted the return of Halley's comet and were only a month off. She also predicted the time of a solar eclipse (and a map of it's effects). Who wouldn't like her?

Thermal imaging, used in some military applications, uses electromagnetic waves to make images based on the radiated infrared electromagnetic wave created by heat. The waves are sensed by a sensor and the current created sends info to a processor.

My trucks alternator uses electromagnetism to induce current and charge my battery. It spins electromagnets in the core whose poles alternate. Wire loops surround the spinning electromagnets. This induces an alternating current in the wires

My lil bro uses the "force" on this permenant magnet using another permenant magnet. Not only is this fun for him, it shows that magnetic fields are not "blocked" by objects.

This capacitor in my old xbox power supply stores electric potential energy so it can power the xbox for a short period of time in case of inconsistent power reception (eg. A power flicker). That's why the xbox stays on for a moment of you unplug the cord.
