In regards to the debate about "tounges" and with Paul's teaching from 1 Cor. 13 and 14 regarding spiritual gifts, is self edification something scripture encourages? Should we not instead use our gifts to edify others in the church?

Some understand the gift of tounges as a personal prayer language that is for self edification. Does scripture teach an unintelligible prayer language?

If Adam begot Seth and Seth begot others after that and so on, how does this occur without incest? Wouldn't incest have to occor for all of humanity to come from just Adam and Eve?

What are your thoughts on the modern day charismatic movement; doctrines of new "God" given revelation, special emphasis on the gifts of the spirits like speaking in tounges and common place miraculous healings, and ad nosiem musical worship?

[Tryston Martin @TrystonMartin]

@mikeanike15 Perhaps, however, after studying 1 Corinthians 14 more, it's been my conviction that speaking in tounges as an unintelligible babble that is common place in charismatic churches is the exact thing Paul was writing to correct in the Corinthians in character 14.

"I don't need to read anything that's not the Bible to study theology." How would you respond to such a claim?

[Tryston Martin @TrystonMartin]

"Therefore God sends them a strong delusion,..." 2 Thess. 2:11. Does God truly "send" delusion, therefore being the cause of confusion and evil? I believe not, but I have yet to understand what is meant here and in Job 42 regarding these things.

In Job 42, when God restores Jobs property and family, verse 11 in the ESV explains that Job's family comforted him "for all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him." Did God truly do evil to Job? How do I make sence of this verse?

When someone is chosen by God for salvation, are they always both shown mercy for sins and are adopted into God's family? Or is there a distinction within God's salvation He offers where some people are only given mercy while other are given both mercy and adoption?

The fact that the fryer was able to increase the thermal energy of the oil that then transfered into the fries to cook them to perfection is evidence that energy is real.

The entropy increases each time the fuel and air mixture is ignighted. This increased entropy stems from an explosion that expands out, pushing the piston that would then be attached to a shaft that trnsfers a up and down kinetic energy to a torque.
