@UzairuMarxz Fair. But the Portugal game was more of an exhibition game, frankly. Eric used a number of uncapped and fringe players.
Nothing was at stake and that was why I used the recent AFCON, which was a competitive tournament. And for most of these teams the players are the same.
I don’t agree with this.
You can base your rationale on why is Nigeria not at the tournament if it’s better than any of the African countries; and is OK.
But we recently defeated Tunisia and Algeria, and drew Morocco. Lost to Congo via PK. Even Ghana & SA? No, man.
It’s been a fair first round of matches for African teams. The quality of the teams for the draws is superb.
For the defeats, I was disappointed with Algeria. Senegal lost due to lack of concentration in key moments. I wasn’t expecting anything from Tunisia & SA was lackluster.
The 10 African teams have now played at the #FIFAWorldCup 2026 first round:
Wins:
Ghana 🇬🇭
Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮
Draws:
Morocco 🇲🇦 (against Brazil)
DR Congo 🇨🇩 (against Portugal)
Cape Verde 🇨🇻 (against Spain)
Egypt 🇪🇬 (against Belgium)
Defeats:
Algeria 🇩🇿 (Poor)
Tunisia 🇹🇳 (Embarrassing)
South Africa 🇿🇦 (Average)
Senegal 🇸🇳 (Didn’t take chances)
Thoughts so far?
@Omojuwa JJ, allow us to rest. We are still behind the GOAT - Cristiano Ronaldo.
But I won’t lie, this epistle, in Mohammed Ali’s voice, is a knocker. 😀😁
@SirJarus In addition to the points by @SirJarus above, many of the RE frontiers are being championed by the oil and gas companies.
So basically they influence the emerging markets and its derivatives.
Still oil and gas with different approaches.
@Abdulrah_maan So true. I remember during my first Bachelor’s in the school, there was one U90 that was still running around with no direction or timeline for graduation at the time. That was early around 2006.
Actually there were many of them then. I understand it’s not possible now.
It feels so unreal to emerge as the ADC flag bearer for the House of Representatives in the most consequential LGA in Niger State.
Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alamin.
You’ve served us, your constituents, diligently with all sense of responsibility and accountability.
We are proud of what you’ve done and accomplished as a first time legislator. Irrespective of the platform, we will mobilize and ensure that you return, in sha Allah. Cheers!
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. A few hours ago, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas GCON, announced my letter of resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and my formal move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at plenary. I am now a member of the ADC, and I will be seeking re‑election to continue representing the good people of Kaduna North Federal Constituency on this platform.
I am joined in this new chapter by our respected elder, Hon. Engr. Suleiman Richifa, representing Soba, and my dear brother, Hon. Umar Ajilo, representing Makarfi/Kudan, who both defected from their previous parties to the African Democratic Congress. Together, we are building a home for progressive, people‑focused service.
This decision was not taken lightly. As a proud son of Mallam Nasir @elrufai, I am guided by courage, conviction, and the unshakable belief that our people deserve the very best. To the people of Kaduna North: our work continues, and it will not stop. We will never compromise on delivering quality representation. There is still so much to do.
By the grace of God, I will soon announce the ad hoc committee for the Primary Health Care initiative I unveiled last week. We will be equipping Primary Health Care Centres with medical supplies, starting with 1,000 syringes per PHC and other essential items. Phase I begins with two centres: Unguwar Sarki Ward and Badarawa/Malali Ward.
May Allah SWT continue to guide us as we serve the people. And may He bless Nigeria with the best leaders.
Signed
Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai

@KHALYD16@salimpotter Salim is right.
Southern Kaduna is defined by two elements: geography and ideology.
There are people in Lere and Ikara (geographically Kaduna North and senatorially zone 1) that identify as Southern Kaduna. Ditto Chikun and Kajuru (Kaduna north and zone 2).
If you want to participate actively and get some mileage in politics, ensure you have these kinds of women around you. They will always lift up your mood and give you the necessary coverage.

They should also intervene and speed up the Eastern bypass as an alternative.
If the Eastern bypass has been completed, it would have solved many of these issues by being a better alternative. But here we are. @ubasanius
Governor Uba Sani Orders Immediate Completion of Western Bypass, Sets Up Task Force After Fatal Accidents
The Kaduna State Government has issued a firm directive for the immediate acceleration and completion of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Western Bypass, declaring ongoing delays “completely unacceptable” in the wake of repeated fatal accidents along the corridor.
The decision followed an emergency stakeholders’ meeting convened at the instance of Governor Uba Sani, who expressed grave concern over the rising number of crashes on the 21.5-kilometre expressway stretching from Command Junction through the bypass to Mando Roundabout.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Information & Culture, Mallam Ahmed Maiyaki, conveyed the Governor’s deep concern and urgency:
“His Excellency is profoundly disturbed by the tragic loss of lives recorded on this highway. No level of progress can justify the continued loss of even a single life. This situation is intolerable, and decisive action must be taken immediately.”
The high-level meeting brought together critical stakeholders, including representatives of the Federal Ministry of Works, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), KASTELEA, the main contractor Dangote Industries, subcontractors Dantata & Sawoe, and leadership of transport unions such as NARTO, NURTW, and ACCOMORAN.
Maiyaki noted that although the project was awarded in 2021, prior to the current administration, progress had been sluggish until Governor Uba Sani personally intervened.
“Since the Governor’s direct engagement, we have seen a marked improvement in the pace of work. However, progress alone is not enough—timely completion is now non-negotiable.”
According to updates from the Federal Controller of Highways and contractors, approximately 19 kilometres of the road have been completed. Despite the official delivery timeline of December 2026, the Governor has now issued a clear directive for an earlier completion date.
“His Excellency has made it unequivocally clear: this project must be delivered ahead of schedule. Any further delay will not be tolerated.”
To ensure strict compliance, the government has established a multi-agency task force to monitor construction and enforce safety measures around the clock, particularly during the rainy season.
The task force, chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works, includes the FRSC, KASTELEA, Federal Ministry of Works officials, contractors, community representatives, traditional leaders, and transport unions. The Ministry of Information has been mandated to lead an aggressive public awareness and behavioral change campaign.
Maiyaki underscored that unsafe road use has been a major contributing factor to the accidents, noting that several high-risk crossing points have been identified.
“Beyond infrastructure, human behaviour remains a critical challenge. We are working closely with communities to enforce safer road usage. Recklessness on our roads must stop.”
He further stressed that both construction standards and road usage must align with global best practices:
“We are committed to ensuring that this road meets international safety standards—not just in design, but in how it is used.”
The government’s intervention follows mounting pressure from community leaders and youth groups, who have described the situation along the bypass as a “serious public safety emergency” with far-reaching economic and social consequences.
With the new directive and enforcement mechanisms in place, the Kaduna State Government says it is determined to restore safety, accelerate delivery, and ensure that the Western Bypass serves its intended purpose without further loss of life.
@Ade_Nurayn Ade, strategically & operationally ADC is heavily missing Mallam and that’s not even arguable.
On your point, people will always leave political parties if their interests aren’t aligned with incumbents.
I think yours and his positions are different, and boo true.
@Lawi_IA Yup, 2019 was harder. Because then, there was nothing to use to promote his capacity/competency and he was so unpopular.
At least in 2023 his Senate performance supported mallam’s push.
