There’s no day like #WorldEnvironmentDay to highlight FIS’ commitment to protect the planet − in particular, our sport’s own, magical environment: snow.
And snow – or the lack of it – is a vivid reminder of how much the planet needs to be taken care of. As a signatory of the @SportsForNature Framework, FIS has been joining forces with partners from different areas of society to drive nature-positive action across snow sports.
Because snow it’s in our nature. But what if one day it no longer is?

@BEisenhart Let me know if you ever want to visit n ski @SkiSantaFe or @VisitTaos_NM NM. I have a same age equivalent and they can feed off each other’s talents
@THAPR22 @joydeangela Yeah but the other verbal digs he included and then having Serena Williams (Drake’s x) dance and the game over/lights out at the end was nail in the coffin 🤣🔥
@EsotericNick@paul_zoell68952@GavinNewsom@elonmusk They’re actually a leader in prescribed fire but difficult to scale it everywhere it’s needed, and more so in vegetation types that regenerate rather quickly. Goats are probably more effective to maintain fuel breaks
@neidermyer_r@BillMelugin_ The ignition point on the other major fire, and several others the past decade was directly below a transmission line is probably why you’re hearing that
@realspitfire@realwxforecast Up is physically the most common and efficient way fire moves. Fortunately there appears to be solid fuel break on the other side. Embers are probably biggest concern in this situation
@SnowBrains@SipapuNM is right up there. The term is Native American so weird May not be the best descriptor. However it’s not a ski resort, it’s a ski area, so maybe it is!
