A friend, when we were older, admitted to telling her mom she should have the cool pants I had in grade4 bc "[I] didn't even have a mom" bc her mom told her "you can't have everything x has". She knew it was wrong of young her.

It exists in many communities, that's the point- it exists WITHIN those communities. Colorism is a huge problem in India for example. It doesn't exist ACROSS communities.

@crisjustmight @keaaaaley "Blackness" was created to literally represent not being white. White ppl looked at black ppl and said "you are NOT us". A biracial child cannot "identify" into whiteness, bc "whiteness" is the state/visible identity of being purely white.

@crisjustmight @keaaaaley I dont care about tyla really, but I feel compelled to say here that whiteness is about purity. You can't be "part white" or "half white", it's like an oxymoron. You can have proximity to whiteness, but if both your parents aren't (mostly) white then you can't be white.

@swilkerson22 @zobiwankenobii Doing makeup/dressing nice/getting facials is fun & relaxing. Breast surgery is not. Lots of women do makeup & dress up for FUN. Feeling/being pretty isn't soley about attracting men. The goal is to like how you look, and find a guy that does too. Not to change yourself for a guy
