perhaps the biggest blackpill of all is it seems only infinitely scalable generalization we can make is generalizations can only be locally scaleable. This is like only unifying principle across metalogic; induction, goedel, algorithms(tho semblance shouldn't be overstated)
@liamhrobins ig it might be confused but the underlying contents not obviously false cus it's crashout about how no systems can self-verify their justification to make generalizations, and that's follows Munnchausens trilemma which hasn't been debunked yet
colleges should let you filter classes based on grading structure and course intensity. they should also make it clear to like employers etc how rigorous/grade inflationed a student's schedule was. there should just be more transparency all around in the signaling process

@zagrebbi but then maybe it just blurs back into the discrimination part cause like its from how both sides polarize it to identify with their side so then its kinda a feedback loop
@zagrebbi even setting aside individual inclination the way statistical personality differences manifest in ingroup's values/goals guide behavior somewhat. trump admin hiring less credentialed ppl is kinda an example of how they like reward it less
if someone cares about something you don't care about, you can challenge it by asking "could a case even be made for this being an effective altruism cause area?"
boom, they've been disheveled, disappointed, intellectually decapitated even
@cxgonzalez@neocartesian whether we have any commitments to them, indispensable or otherwise. I do feel like there's another argument for like why might we get our evidence from the practice being indispensable but I haven't developed my understanding for why non-optionality grants this that doesn't
@neocartesian tldr I wrote how explanatory indispensability ontological weight can' map to deliberative indispensability without explaining how it has sufficiently similar ontological warrant as explanation process answerability to reality, to standard independent of internal reasoning process
@neocartesian it was just for a basically completion grade hw so I could leave some steps underdeveloped, even gave up finding the source enoch used for quoting showing how explanatory indispensability's ontological warrant etc etc
pro-tip if anyone claims you're being irrational/dumb you tell them you're economizing on cognitive costs rn they'll get a kick out of that

could be different if the incentive were shifted to optimizing for the improvements you could make on an issue, not how psychologically satisfying the issue was to care about/bond over with your friends
even when the consequences are ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE worse for different issues narratives of complex phenomena with no clear bad guys will have no memetic power compared to simplified narratives that do. and narratives are consumption goods, ppl want hyper-legible moral clarity
It's funny how selective leftists are about invoking utlitarian stuff. "How can you care about Graham Platner's rape when there are sitting Democrats who voted to give money to Israel who is genociding hundreds of thousands of people??"
Ok? How can you care about Graham Platner's rape OR Israel when there are sitting Democrat congresspeople who support price controls on prescription drugs, which will kill millions of people.... excuse me... millions of black and brown bodies?
Why are we not calling for them to resign?
The Woke thing isn't actually coherent
