America has been blessed with some of the most beautiful nature, landscapes, and wildlife on all of God’s green earth. It is thanks to the efforts of generations of far-sighted Americans that we are able to enjoy this great land, and it is incumbent upon us today to ensure that it remains a place of awe and beauty for future generations. If you haven’t taken the opportunity to visit at least one national park yet this year, I highly recommend doing so before the summer is out. You won’t regret it.

A. The reason why EA has basically no influence among MAGA Republicans is they (not entirely inaccurately) see EA as just another front in the murky left-wing funding / activism network. SBF famously donated to Democratic campaigns, and EA-aligned megadonors like Dustin Moskowitz continue to do so. I personally know several people using EA money to do partisan Dem politics under the guise of "democracy preservation". In a counterfactual world where EAs didn't do this, I bet that Republicans would be *way* more sympathetic to EA and AI safety. This is one of the EA movement's greatest unforced strategic errors.

B. Even if I conceded that Dems were better for EA principles than Republicans (which I do not), you've given no evidence that donating to the DNC meets any threshold of cost-effectiveness. Electoral influence is famously very hard to buy, and previous EA attempts to spend money getting their preferred candidates in office (Carrick Flynn, Alex Bores) have failed. Throwing EA money at the DNC is at best throwing it into a hole, and at worst actively harmful.
