FFmpeg is moving to Rust π¦
Our use of C and Assembly in FFmpeg has been an unacceptable violation of safety.
FFmpeg will be running 10x slower - but we're doing it for your safety.
All your videos will appear green - safety first, working software later.
@BluntButRight@MarkJCarney What are you talking about? The figure represents our own defence spending vs overall GDP. You're trying to imply it's something else. We needed to increase defence spending ages ago. Better late than never.
@MoorewithTravis@Morgan_C_Ross A scrap heap no doubt, they were useless in that role and it probably just spun out 6 months later and got written off. Looks cool though.
@KerryLynneFindl How do you propose to pay for that? That's one of those things that sounds nice but it's absolutely ridiculous. I hate to see what you'll cut to pay for it.
@RetroTechChris I think that's exactly what it was, now that you mention it! I've got it upstairs, maybe I'll take a look later :) It hasn't seen electrons in a while but it amazes me how robust (some of) this stuff is.
@RetroTechChris Pretty neat! On my old 386 when I upgraded to a 700MB drive it just came with a floppy that loaded some kind of an overlay, I never had a card like this (I'm not sure that old beast had any slots free for one anyway, it was pretty stacked up)
@PrairieVeteran Being a drama queen isn't helpful or productive. There's always room for legitimate criticism, but this is just disingenuous rage bait. Calm down.
@RetroTechChris I'm sure that's probably what it is, I just watched a video not that long ago about a very similar card on Adrian's digital basement: https://t.co/YHuxm9hH5d
@CourtneyHella@milehisnk1@FrancieNolan6 Best to worst:
1. Permanent Standard time
2. Switching twice yearly
3. Permanent Daylight saving time.
Permanent DST is objectively the worst possible choice.
@MadelnCanada No because it should be on standard time. Sun should be highest at noon. Daylight time is objectively incorrect whether you switch back and forth or not lol
