If you want to go from obsessed football fan to understanding the game at a deeper level, here’s how I did it.
Go on https://t.co/FEVDDEw3MD and read in this order:
1. https://t.co/sR6c4fuNz6
2. https://t.co/ga2L2YBeop
3. https://t.co/QzxfNZXgqA
4. https://t.co/qzFZxh0MzG
5. https://t.co/SLEexGHp3J
You will need to re read these as some of them are quite dense and you will pick different things up each pass. Pro tip: if you’re struggling for time you can paste the link into Eleven Labs and listen as audio.
Whilst doing this I was also reading posts on here , watching games and videos on YouTube etc which resulted in a deep dive that went over 100hrs in 1 week. I presume this isn’t normal however.
I also feel it’s right to give recognition when it’s due and these 3 people are incredible for building football knowledge:
@MeiaArmador__@Jon_Mackenzie@rajsinghchohan
@midfield227 Read this article about diagonality from @spielvercom and I can’t unsee it now like they put it , it’s diagonality or die

Intentions before structure
To some a vague statement, for others it catches the essence of football’s complexity- that shouldn’t be reduced to symmetrical lines
These structures rise and fall, they have imperfections, bends, meandering towards the shared accordance
I love this from Pellegrino Matarazzo (@RealSociedad) where he is speaking about pre-season planning and implementation.
However, I believe this is important in any phase of your season.
Everything should be planned and strategized, because without clear structure in your work, and relying on improvisation, it’s impossible to consistently have a high level of trainings, meetings and performance cycles.
BUT
Coaching is an art, and without leaving room for adaptability and adjusting to the group’s needs, your trainings and environments become stale and even the best plans become ineffective.
“…football has changed so much that it seems like there’s only one way to play, and I don’t think that’s true. Every country has its own way of understanding football…”
The language of football is not universal or objective, it is a multiplicity of interacting dialects.
Presenting my final report for Mas @adriantopriyo's video scout course with @SilkeborgIF as a focus club.
It's started from understanding the club's context then recommending players from @eliteserien & @AllsvenskanSE.
A thread.
Liga 4 Nasional is now currently live!
And THIS is my favourite candidate to get promoted: raising Pasuruan grassroot, Persiharjo Solo Raya DNA, Wahana Riau football genuineness, and the ambitious Unaaha.
Thoughts? 👀

Couldn't agree more, Kang!
Moneyball is one thing. But being able to commit to investing in developing their own model and deploying qualified people to achieve the target cannot be achieved overnight, and it definitely takes time. That’s what makes the whole process both expensive and valuable 😃
