Is rum the next collector asset meta?
"I think rum is the next meta in the States.
Whiskey went fucking insane until the Japanese money got into it.
We made tequila cool in America with celebrities.
I think the next alcohol to pop is rum.
I think the next Pokémon trend is gonna be collecting vintage rums."

"Hyperliquid had to build its own chain to do this. Phoenix reckons Solana can already handle it."
Kabir from Phoenix on why a proper onchain orderbook on Solana was meant to be impossible.
Here's the problem in plain English. Solana is a general purpose chain. Every memecoin launch, every swap, every payment, all of it fights for the same blockspace. Now try running a real exchange on top of that mess.
An exchange needs price feeds updating constantly. It needs market makers able to cancel and move their orders every few hundred milliseconds, because if they can't, they get picked off and they stop quoting.
No quotes, no liquidity, no exchange. That's a monstrous amount of transactions.
Hyperliquid's answer was to go build a chain purpose-built for it. Phoenix is taking the other route and betting Solana has finally got fast enough to do it at home.
Early signs are decent. Phoenix is already 7% of all monthly transactions on Solana and it's still in beta.
The plumber who called Shiba Inu in an SF bathroom
"There's a clip that's gone around this week of Thread Guy saying that everyone who's unc has previously been trading against plumbers.
I think there's something to be said for the aggressiveness and the edge that these onchain TikTok broccoli head people have over us.
But is that a true reflection of what it was like over the past 5, 6, 7 years?
I used to live in SF. I remember DeFi summer, I was at Fort Mason, I was in the bathroom taking a piss.
This guy walks in and screams at the top of his lungs, 'BUY SHIBA INU.' Just screaming. And then walks out of the bathroom.
I fucking bought Shiba Inu and made 1000x.
Looking back, I'm like, okay, yeah, I think that guy was probably a plumber."

What perks are available for signing up to Plasma One now?
"We're quite AI and travel centric on our rewards.
We have competitive cashback, but especially competitive cashback on travel and AI token spend.
We see that being a massive value driver for our customers, and it's something we'll be expanding quite a bit."
We’ve all seen videos of humanoids folding laundry and sorting boxes.
But there’s a pretty big gap between a cool demo and a robot that can actually function in the messy real world.
A big part of that comes down to data. Robots need to learn from the real world before they can reliably operate in it.
That’s what we’re getting into in today's conversation with @axisrobotics' @chris_anm01.
We don't usually get excited about banking, but here we are.
Tomorrow, 3pm bst, @pauliepunt joins us to chat about how much easier life gets when your money can actually move when you need it to.
