He’s actually there to challenge John Stewart and push the story forward. Guy’s loud, obnoxious energy is the perfect foil to John’s grounded, disciplined mindset, creating immediate friction without bogging down the mystery in clunky exposition.

It makes the DCU feel like a real, functioning world where other Lanterns exist on their own terms, proving the writers actually care about character dynamics instead of just checking off fan service boxes.
