As a Third World country, we can’t keep skipping industrialization and jumping straight into digitalization. We cannot be talking about owning our own AI when we don’t have the electricity day to day activities less to talk about a data center
I think more people should read on how chinese nationalities are overfishing in nigeria and its effect.
Or essays on their activities with mining in Nigeria.
Brutal and without care of any kind.
You guys don’t want to tell your friends your travel plans, don’t want to let them know you’re getting married and somehow you’re still calling these people your friends. There’s a certain level of entitlement that is actually necessary in genuine friendships. If you believe your friends are monitoring spirits or witches who will somehow ruin your plans simply because they know about them before they happen, then perhaps they’re not really your friends. Please let us start using the word ACQUAINTANCE more.
This!! You people really think you have the privilege and time of facilitating abstract ideas around politics when your reality demands practicality and a clear eyed understanding of what we need to do to leave this current mess.
I like this tweet I Love Pleonasms. Cease means stop and Desist means Do Not do it again. This is called a legal doublet, comprised of words that are irreversible binomials, like "for all intents and purposes" and "aid and abet" or even "law and order". Fun!
just as i said. still not in support of this, there's no reason why community service should not suffice, this is a non-violent crime. let her clear the drains in her area for a week or two
If you’re a non-theist in corporate/business in a deeply religious society, this is how many believers view you. Regardless of competence, they’ll ACTIVELY SABOTAGE you out of fear of divine punishment, or to watch you suffer to validate their worldview. Please, LEARN to pretend!
Ōlowó ōrí mí o
Ę jò
Ę jò
Ę bá nbę Ōlówó ōrí mi o
Roughly translates to
‘Please help me to plead with my lover’
That’s a very modest translation, it’s more like ‘to anybody that will listen please help me to plead with my lover’
the sentiment is a lot deeper in Yoruba and typically a man would never address a woman as ‘Ōlowó ōrí mí’ so in this context there’s alot of layers to it
You people are fighting for your rights not to greet each other, your rights to get gifted stuff and show no gratitude, we barely hear please and thank yous, no excuse me, no pardon me, everybody just wants to be everything jagajaga. O ga oo
If we can’t agree that something that’s clearly rude is rude, then I don’t know what to say anymore.
There’s a place for silence if you’re dissatisfied with something that was given to you, there’s also a place to communicate this reasonably if you must.
the way daughters of nigerian politicians are running amok in the social impact/charity space is quite hilarious. pretending to care about problems caused by your thieving parents! i have done some comms consulting in that space, so i see surnames and think no be gaddus be this?
a lot of time, you people that are fans of these fashion brands [aka friends of the founders] are the problem. y'all are the ones who set them up for dragging. you are not their PR managers, it's okay for consumers to have feedback, there is no need to attack them.
If the take is anything besides “we live in a society that’s normalizing surveillance culture and rewarding freaks for invading people’s privacy so we fight it less when our government does it” I’m not interested
