@broseph_stalin@AlexTurlais The greens have targeted 150000 affordable homes in the uk. The back log will take years to fix . If the greens also allow open borders policy, the timescale will be decades
@BareLeft Ok so if the greens target is 150000 a year and they have open borders policy . The need for affordable homes will increase at a greater rate than them being built. Therefore we will be worse off
@GozieInLondon@TheGreenParty They have said they will just build 150000. That is not enough . That’s my concern . What difference will that make. Open the borders fully and we will be worse off
@GozieInLondon@TheGreenParty How many home will the Green Party build ? Looks like 150000 a year . That will have little to no impact on helping the housing crisis. Labour have built 186000.
@Visions_0F_Hope @rivkahbrown Reality is rent controls might stop rises and will help a little bit but that is all. We as so short of housing and even the greens pledge of 150000 a year is miles of what is needed …
@bunshitsrael@SocialistVoice Not saying people didn’t save that way. The majority of wealth would have been created through house prices rapidly increasing
@bunshitsrael@SocialistVoice Partly. If you brought a house for £25k 40 years ago it is worth -at least 10-15 times that amount. That wasn’t saving or skill just pure luck the house prices went up .
@techno_peasant@cezthesocialist What I meant was other parties do say things what I think make sense that is all .
Yes your right with Green Party, even though others do and would but more limited . I still think we need a lot more built and until will do it will be a struggle.
@techno_peasant@cezthesocialist Out of those around 300000 classed as empty . We are about 4 millions short .
So adding 150000 a year is not close to what we need.
I didnt say I wouldn’t got green . Not heard a word on them about tackling crime or how how they will help the working person .
@techno_peasant@cezthesocialist Regulations needs to be brought in to protect tenants i totally agree but we will not help the matter for years unless we build a lot.
Tackling utilities is fine but everyone’s biggest cost is rent/mortgage. need more properties and not HMOs
@techno_peasant@cezthesocialist So serious question. How many houses do you think the greens would build a year? . Sounds like 150000 maximum. How is that to come close to helping when the population will increase by more than that, plus the amount of homes we are behind already.
@Hydes04@cezthesocialist Of course they do . Planning and the slowness of council and the governments get in the way . As a country building 150000 homes a year is miles of what is needed . Say the greens got on power today , those figures will barely impact the cost of rentals
@StarbuckToby@Tomvpus@AaronBastani The question with workers in the uk and my concern with be greens will raising NI and will leave the tax brackets where they are not helping workers. They have yet to say how they are going to tackle crime .
