It’s actually a good thing that Americans are seeing high gas prices and long lines at airports. These are direct results of Republican policies
More people need to feel the direct pain of Republican policies in their lives
Politics is not some abstract concept. It is your grocery bill, your medical insurance costs, your ability to get childcare and hold companies accountable for fraud, and wealthy guys like me getting massive unnecessary tax cuts while you pay thousands more for a pointless war and tariffs
Autoimmune issues involving your eyes are actually so scary.
In high school, I had a pink eye infection so bad that even after I recovered, my immune system would not stop trying to fight it, and for TWO YEARS I had to take steroids just so I wasn't blind in that eye.
1. Our skeletons are wet.
2. your nose is ALWAYS in your line of sight, but your brain ignores it
3. When you receive a donated kidney, they don’t take out the bad one. They just add the good one in.
4. Your immune system doesn't know you have eyes. Otherwise, it would attack them and make you blind. injuring one eye can introduce eye bits to the bloodstream and basically give your immune system the knowledge of having eyes. then it might decide it really fucking hates that and attack your non-injured eye.
5. The quality of the male sperm is responsible for morning sickness, preeclampsia, baby’s gender and almost every single pregnancy related issue.
6. You breathe through one nostril at a time. Don’t believe me? Put your finger below your nose and try.
7. The brain itself has no nerve endings, so it can’t feel pain. That’s why patients can be wide awake during brain surgery and made to perform certain actions.
8. That ringing in silence isn’t silence
When everything is quiet and you hear a faint ringing?
That’s your brain listening to its own nervous system.
You are hearing yourself functioning.
9. You will never experience your own death.
You only experience approaching it… Then nothing.
Everyone else gets closure, stories, funerals, and memories.
You don’t.
You never know you’ve become a memory.
From your perspective, the story just stops mid-sentence.
Lush founder tells Gaza critics to stay away from his stores
——
Lush co-founder Mark Constantine said people who oppose his solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza should not shop at his stores, saying he does not want support from customers who reject his position.
Speaking on the BBC’s The Big Boss Interview, Constantine said profits from Lush are used to support causes he believes in, including actions taken in response to humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
Constantine, who led a temporary shutdown of Lush stores earlier this year, said the move was driven by images of starving civilians in Gaza, adding that customers who disagree “absolutely shouldn’t support” his business, according to remarks cited by the BBC.
Dr. Gabor Maté, a Holocaust survivor, calmly counters a provocative question from a Zionist supporter, challenging long-standing Israeli disinformation and highlighting who is truly acting inhumanely
Fascism is the blanket term we are using to describe what is happening. And it DOES apply. But specific words are needed for this moment to teach people what is happening.
Ex. The US is not a democratic republic. It is a corporatocracy. A corporatocracy is a society in which corporations hold the majority of political, economic, and governmental power, often more than elected officials or the public. It’s not always an official form of government but it often exists through
- lobbying (ex. Turbo Tax keeping us PAYING to do taxes when other countries do it for free)
- regulatory capture (ex. The FDA allowing poison in our food/the EPA allowing a whole town to die of cancer in Louisiana)
- monopolies (ex. Facebook/Meta or even Disney)
- privatization of essential services (ex. The destruction of the CDC and healthcare so private companies can swoop in)
