@MargoinWNC Those small, rural counties with tiny tax bases have to provide the same services by statute that wealthier counties do. It doesn’t mean that those county governments are going wild w/ spending- it simply means they have less to do the same tasks with when the tax base is limited

@MargoinWNC I do have issues with the third one- the limit on the property tax levy. It’s worded so vague and for those of us who live in counties where a penny on the tax rate generates ~$140K in tax revenue that limitation could be problematic. (1)

@teachthemx3 Between 22-36% of students read at grade level at my local high school. They love to brag about their high graduation rate to which I reply “you’re celebrating graduating functionally illiterate students”. Sad. Those kids are doomed for life.
