@BarryCPearson And that’s a horrid standard deviation - mine is usually under 20 - but I’m not editing out or photoshopping things to make myself look better. (As some folks accuse those of us who follow Dr Bernstein)
Argentina’s National Basketball Team is following a KETO diet. It just made it to the Final of the WorldCup (USA will figth 5th place) Worried/obsolete Traditional Nutrinionists in Argentina published an statement warning about the dangers of KETO (?) @KenDBerryMD@SBakerMD 🤷♂️
@NoonesFirstNan @DikemanDave @MiriamETucker@USCWestDiabetes It usually never is accounted for, because the only way not to need to do that is to follow a low carb diet - which the majority believe is dangerous, non-nutritive, orthorexic, and brain damaging.
@KenDBerryMD I now use between 20-25% of the total amount of insulin I used to need (more in summer, less in winter). A HUGE savings. Eating low carb (a la Dr Bernstein’s plan) has also saved me money on food.
@USCWestDiabetes@MiriamETucker I’m so fricking tired of “time in range” being used as a measurement of management success, when the range being used is KNOWN to promote complications. Sure, raise the range to 180, then everyone can say they are in range 90% of the time.
@AADEdiabetes Then you need new reviewers: reviewers who are up to date on the multiple-approved dietary patterns for eating to manage diabetes. And competent UX designers, to design a label for those who cannot use current nutritional labels.
@AADEdiabetes Deeper relevancy for the profession will come when more people manage to lower their A1c, avoid the complications of hyperglycemia and experience lower distress from their condition.
@AADEdiabetes “Healthy meals.” No macronutrient composition or other nutrients in the recipes, and utilizing the now-discarded “plate” info as healthy? AADE, I am a member and I am frustrated that your recommendations are not even keeping up with the current ADA Guidelines and standards.
@AADEdiabetes How long must we wait? Your recent push to change the title of your professionals reflects a greater interest in justifying a larger scope and larger payments for the services of diabetes educators than it does actually educating and caring for the people with diabetes.
@usambcuba St Dev way too high (I like it 20 or under), but this period included an adjustment from Humalog to Regular in my pump. A1c still predicted <5.0%.
