@bruces I'm sure it's purely coincidental that immediately after that bailout was announced Milei and his cabinet, bypassing parliament against their constitution, permitted a US military presence in Tierra del Fuego.
@ryankatzrosene You see that because those with the scientific expertise who attempt to educate the public can't seem to grasp that most people don't have a clue how climate or CO2 work.
@JeremyWard33 I'll just point out that, given the direction the planetary environment is traveling, many of those Gen Z folks could be out regenerating, de-desertifying, and helping expand water capture all over the globe. It might not pay them into the 10%, but at least it's useful.
@jonathanstea As is supported by someone using the title "doctor" who posts a meme declaring there's no evidence to support the suggestion that mRNA have been shown to contain DNA, which those manufacturing them insist isn't true. But then, they said the vaccines prevented covid, too.
@ryankatzrosene As long as all people hear is how bad it is, and that just eliminating fossil fuels will fix it, what can you expect? They're trained to believe technology is a solution instead of just a tool, and it serves those profiting to maintain that belief.
@WeatherProf You can thank the fossil fuel industry for the latter, as they're the ones paid the media to initiate the "false data on climate science" myth shortly after the first warnings were launched. The entire educational agenda went downhill from there.
@GunnelsWarren Would you all please stop repeating that 68,000 number? The current position is that 800 people a day die of the consequences of poverty; that's 292,000 a year. And that was with full Medicaid coverage.
@anthonyzenkus Didn't you get the memo? Those aren't medical professionals being educated; they're communist infiltrators masquerading as medical professionals. 🙄
@ProudSocialist Wipe them out? I don't think so. Rather, those deemed to require no special skills will be replaced and basic tasks of many professions will be automated, with predictably disastrous results. The jobs will still be there.
@ClimateBen You kn ow, it would be nice if, just once in a while, the climate doomers would take the time to study up on what's being done to address it instead of terrorizing people with their declarations of impending disaster.
@SteveMcEllis Underlying chronic illness would be my suggestion. Not sure there's a way to test for that, given how many there already are. I also now have to wonder how much the diagnosed cases will soar once there's a specific test for it.
@DrCatharineY I gather you haven't noticed that whenever profit margins are involved science is invariably declared to be settled on behalf of whatever product is being sold?
@ninaturner You know, you would be more useful if you stopped reinforcing the myth "tax dollars" pay for federal expenditures and instead make it clear the refusal to support the people is a deliberate decision by the oligarchy.
As a rule, never listen to anyone insulting your intelligence by pretending Dems lost in 2024 because they were pro-choice or because they were too populist, rather than because they covered up for a sundowning octogenarian & then ran his deer-in-the-headlights successor.
@bruces Have you noticed how almost all of them are invariably referred to as "progressive" in the US media? Isn't "progressive oligarch" something of an oxymoron?
@WilliamShatner Quite restful, as a matter of fact, as I stayed off social media and watched furniture restorers and people doing good deeds for others on YouTube. I highly recommend it.
@WeatherProf Why is every announcement like that accompanied by someone declaring or implying it's OUR choices that are causing this instead of the actions of governments, the wealthy, and corporate polluters who do whatever they want?
@PatriciaNPino Because when you're relying on the fact the bulk of your audience is utterly ignorant of how economics works the need to reinforce false propaganda is essential?
