@melissabime@EricTopol Good point. We need data on efficacy and safety, but these are challenging with a bespoke treatment. Shod we take the average of all treatments, or look in more detail at correlates of efficacy/risks?
@williamnhutton@Anna_Soubry And yet we pay the price of the most expensive component making up only 2% of the electricity generation for 100% of it. Time to change that and bring prices down. Pay for each component separately.
@gibraltarfx@MarinaPurkiss@SuellaBraverman โThe hottest 10 years globally have occurred in the last 11 years.โ Thats climate change.
โOh, itโs /hot/cold/windy/rainy todayโ Thats weather.
No wonder the toddler is unhinged once again.
The Obamas are competent, classy, loving, Harvard and Princeton graduates, loved by many, not on the Epstein files, got the Nobel Peace Prize, and gave us a steady economy to boot!
Repost this if you agree they are AMAZING!
@gerhard87160349@MichaelAlbertMD As some have pointed out, in the case of measles, the virus actively screws up the immune system to aid the virus in its infection. By doing so it leaves us more susceptible to infections with other viruses for months to years. Clever virus.
@gerhard87160349@MichaelAlbertMD A vaccine is only worth it if the side effects are rarer and less severe than the effects of the live virus, ie the disease. Iโve had many vaccines and none came close to causing me symptoms worse than a 2 day cold. Obv some are less fortunate, but mercifully few.
@EricTopol@BMJMedicine All the others are voluntary excercise. Walking is fundamental to daily life, if you can no longer walk you are on your way out.
@MasalaFry69 @queenketotweets @thetimes Well thats odd, because I can find a whole load of studies showing reducing saturated fat and replacing it with unsaturated fat reduces the risk of CVD (with about 2 fewer heart attacks over 4 years per 100 people in Cochrane review of 15 studies comprising 50,000 adults)
@MasalaFry69 @queenketotweets @thetimes None of that means saturated fats are safer. They cause heart disease which is best avoided. Trans fats are worse still. We lack enzymes that can digest them, and they should be banned. Extra virgin olive oil has many health benefits with few drawbacks other than a low smoking pt
@MasalaFry69 @queenketotweets @thetimes That is a theory that has now been tested in clinical trials and no inflammatory markers increased in those taking seed oils.
At very high temperatures oxidation does occur and there is a recommendation not to reuse cooking oil for that reason. Again this is backed by trials.
@queenketotweets @thetimes Most seed oils are polyunsaturated (sunflower and canola). These lower LDL and cholesterol, and are associated with lower risk of heart disease.
saturated fats; palm oil coconut oil butter and lard raise LDL and cholesterol and are associated with heart disease.
