Nearly 24 hours since I read it and I’m still haunted by that Neil Gaiman (and Amanda Palmer) article. The way they had all that wealth and still chose to groom young, impressionable, and desperate women for free labour and worse is staggering. Monsters, the both of them.
Has anyone made a verge garden (garden outside your fenceline) without having a concrete footpath to build it around.. and if so, how did you design it?
I speak like people do where I grew up.
I want people from backgrounds like mine who’ve been told to “know your place” to know that public life is their place too.
I spoke to @ObserverUK about pragmatic socialism, solving problems - and shoes. 👠👠

As I said on just recorded @RestIsPolitics I found this in a way even worse than the debate. @FLOTUS has to face the truth which is his reputation is at real risk. A great man who has been a good president and a brilliant public servant for more than half a century. But if he risks a Trump return all that is lost. The denial has to stop.
I'd loved this piece in The Irish Times about the British royal family. And it seems relevant today. What we are seeing right now is how bias & disinformation works, and is exaggerated by social media. Interesting and useful reminder of the way trust is and can be manipulated.
Perhaps the best thing anyone honouring the life, and passing, of #SineadOConnor could do, is be willing to speak truth to power. Even when it costs you. Especially when it costs you. #RIP

"Anti-welfare rhetoric is easy populism. Those attitudes are set by politicians, who need to abandon for good (in every sense) the narrative of taxpayers versus welfare recipient" - Commissioner Catherine Holmes
nyt cooking is good but they should have a toggle where you can change to down under mode and the season is flipped. I don't want to make fuckin... tomato salad or whatever. it's winter man
The most recent @bluemilk in my mailbox is staggering. Just so, so good. Andie, I always love your writing. It always makes me think. This one, though, agggggh. Extraordinary.
This is a very good and compassionate piece on the significance of #Dooce for motherhood writing and the impact of internet writing on #HeatherArmstrong https://t.co/7GYivDcRuN
