It's never been clearer than in this moment that the Free Palestine movement is not operating in reality.

The activists are posting, right this second, about how brave and difficult it is to show support for Palestine right now while simultaneously leading the most vicious cancellation campaign I've ever seen on Ed Sheeran, a man whose crimes amount to not cancelling the concert his fans bought tickets to and saying the Israelis who have been murdered also deserve sympathy.

Macklemore hasn't seen this much love and attention in years and somehow he accepted a great cost when he did the thing that made him famous again.

It's allegedly impossible to show even the slightest sympathy to Palestinians and yet Gillian Anderson gets overrun with hate comments because she didn't say Free Palestine in a video about Sudan.

They are delusional.

A 14-year-old boy kept a paralysed surfer from drowning for more than half an hour in freezing waters. 🙏

Gavin Bowden, 63, was alone at Saunton Sands when a wipeout flipped his massive paddleboard directly onto his head.

The blow instantly paralysed him, leaving him floating face up in the rough surf unable to move his arms or legs. 😲

He managed to shout for help three times before 14-year-old Oscar McCrae reached him.

Oscar said: "If I left him, I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that I could have helped him." 🙏

Getting a grown man onto a slick, upside-down board was incredibly difficult, with Gavin sliding back into the water like a dead weight.

But Oscar eventually hooked the older man’s arms over the board and locked his own across the top.

He had been hauling weighted dummies off the pool floor with the local surf lifesaving club since he was eight years old.

For more than 30 minutes, the teenager kicked out to sea to keep the breaking waves off them while waiting for a lifeboat neither could see.

He calmly asked Gavin simple questions about his family and holidays just to keep him conscious.

On the beach, Oscar’s father was injured and unable to swim out, left watching through a long lens until an Appledore RNLI crew finally arrived.

Gavin spent three nights in hospital and has now returned to the water, though he has vowed never to surf alone again.

He added: "I had a guardian angel that day, his name was Oscar." 🙏

The early 'GC' groups were deliberately apolitical (Fair Play, Transgender Trend) in order to encourage dialogue and help as many different people as possible. The first one to be explicitly political was A Woman's Place, and that was left-wing. Now we have women's 'GC' groups in all political parties, from the Greens to the Conservatives. This is our strength. It is unfortunate to dwell on a tiny minority with more extreme views, especially if you need to find most of these examples from across the pond, where politics, and women's issues, are different.
