When cognitive effort is taken into account, an easier to follow, but longer route may end up being preferred. This "cognitive geometry" is a reflection of the mental space, and what is "shorter" there is what can be more efficiently mentally organized.

Sea scouts spent the afternoon clearing litter, rubble and household items dumped near Fountain Drive along the edge of Kings Mead near our scout hut. We even cleared the soil and leaves from collected on the edge of the road. Thanks Qualiturn for hiring the skip.
