2. IKAL ANGELEI.
I think of Ikal Angelei, whose environmental advocacy brought international attention to the threats facing communities and livelihoods connected to Lake Turkana.
She stood for the principle that the people whose lives are most affected by development decisions must have a voice in determining their future.
Her journey reminds me that defending a community can require extraordinary persistence, especially when the forces on the other side seem much larger.
Across our country, there are people standing up to protect their land, water and heritage. They understand that what we surrender today may be what our children cannot recover tomorrow.
Their courage calls upon us to build a Kenya where development does not come at the expense of people's dignity, livelihoods or right to be heard.
There is this annoying stereotype where ati ju Mimi ni mluhya, watu (middle class) wanapenda kuniuliza kama najua anyone in the village who can become their maid.
First of all, fuck you.
#Benin assistant coach Tunde Adelakun: "What struck me was the very obvious and blatant refusal of the Argentina team to want to have anything to do with my team after the game. Handshakes at the end of the game were hurried and impersonal. And any attempt by our players to get close to the man they came to celebrate was rebuffed rather in a very hostile manner by the security operatives on ground. They clearly collectively did not want to be on the same place with my Benin team. It was rather disturbing."
"Again toward the end of the lap, some of my players lined along what was to be his natural path to end the lap of honour. He was leading. My boys were there. Just wanting him to walk towards them and for them to applaud and appreciate him. Right at the very last moment, Leo made a wild detour and, consciously avoiding the crowd of Benin players that had formed, walked toward the centre of the pitch.
That was a new low for a man revered by many and who, in many young African minds, could do no wrong." https://t.co/YkEkK5IOi4
Daily nation has been spreading lies since before i participated in the African Championship. First they said, I did not seek funds, second, they said I was not registered and now today. My registration as a sports person gives me autonomy over the federation. How are you benefitting??
I wonder how much chronic stress from staying in situations that constantly drain you can affect the body over time. We talk so much about emotional burnout, but the physical toll of living in prolonged tension probably deserves more attention too.

I’m at Trader Joe’s and one of the workers asked if I needed help and I said “I’m okay just grabbing a cheap white” and he goes “I don’t think I can fit in your bag”
Actually there is NO Olympics standard stadium in Kenya now 😂. If you must know - Olympics can only be held in class 1 stadium. An upgraded Kasarani will be category 1 for World Championships. The rest can never.
Hako ka kando ni 1500 seater, 5000+ seater would've been perfect
