Finally! #windowsisback

[Windows Latest @WindowsLatest]

This is the new Windows 11 Search experience without clutter and ads!

Microsoft is letting you turn off Bing/web integration, remove ads, and all unnecessary features to create a clean Search experience on Windows 11.

The home screen is calmer, promotional content is gone from web results, and search now labels results more clearly as app, setting, file, web, or Store. Local files, apps, and settings are prioritized when they are the better match.

And most importantly -- you can now control whether web and Microsoft Store results appear at all!!

That means you can finally stop Windows Search from acting like a Bing launcher when you’re just trying to find something on your own PC.

Microsoft is also improving typo handling for apps, two-character file searches, settings ranking, cloud file discovery, and crash reliability.

Windows is so back! 🥳

Learning 2 - @Afrihost please work better on tracking and chasing these installs for your customers, the customer should not be chasing the install of infrastructure, that is what we pay you for! (3/3)

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

Still no fiber after more than a month! Applied on 18 May for my new house, but @Afrihost and @Vumatel have completely dropped the ball. Multiple empty promises, scheduled appointments, and zero internet. Ticket: # KAB-621-13711. 👇 (1/3)

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

Learning 1 - @vumatel plead DO NOT send the "contractors" first, make sure you have you knowledgeable infrastructure guys to consult first and advise the contractors on what needs to be done. (2/3)

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

@vumatel Thanks. Please contact your infrastructure team, not dispatch. I need a concrete date for when that new street cable is being run. A generic "looking into it" doesn't fix a physical lack of capacity in your box.

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

@vumatel @Afrihost Now I’m told an "external team" has to come out to run a whole new cable down the road closer to the house. More delays, more vague promises. Over a month later and I'm back to square one. @GianVisser who is actually managing this project? (2/2)

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

@vumatel UPDATE: @Afrihost @Vumatel reached out via DM & promised a team today (24 June). The exact same crew from day 1 showed up late, only to announce they STILL can't install. This time? "No space in the box." Total lack of prep and communication. 👇 (1/2)

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

@vumatel Read the thread....

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

@vumatel I have DMed you.

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

Today is 22 June. I am beyond frustrated with the lack of accountability and terrible service. Who is actually going to take ownership and get my line connected? @Afrihost @Vumatel @GianVisser (3/3)

[Andrew Bevan @bluntspoon]

On 1 June, @Vumatel techs turned up but refused to install because they "couldn't cross the driveway" & the run was too far. Escalated to @Afrihost on 2 June. Since then, I've had more appointments scheduled (10 June & 20 June), but still absolutely nothing has been done. (2/3)
