#iceland will have a referendum on #EU accession talks on August 29th, according to a resolution just passed by the Icelandic Parliament. 34 MPs said yes, 8 said no. Interestingly, MPs from the Independence Party and Progressive party abstained.

90 minutes after the #eruption in SW #iceland started, the fissure is about 4 kilometers long (and getting longer). Just now, a size 4 earthquake shook the area (including Reykjavik).
