This is why I love NYC! If you stop rushing to get everywhere you will find raw moments like this: a guy in timbs pouring his soul into a Bach cello sonata.
He made the subway sound like a cathedral. Pure joy!
Just wanted to highlight how ridiculous the 1st inning of Kerry Wood’s 20K masterpiece was:
- 100mph to the umps face to start the game
- What HoFer Craig Biggio called his most embarrassing swing of his career
- Strikes out NL batting leader Derek Bell on possibly the nastiest, definition of fall-off-the-table, curveball you’ve ever seen
- Strikes out HoFer and one of the greatest fastball hitters…on three fastballs.
-Just absolutely disgusting stuff
- Kerry Wood Forever
Nobody was ready for this 😭🔥

It’s 1989. You are a drunk teenager putting out a cigarette before going to a music club in Chicago. As you enter you hear a new kind of raw music that instantly blows you away. It’s Nirvana. You never heard of them. They are still two years away from their Nevermind breakthrough. It’s a concert of a lifetime. You still tell your kids about it frequently. Unfortunately it wasn’t recorded. Or so you thought. Unbeknown to you a Chicago live music enthusiast, Aadam Jacobs, took his tape recorder to the show and recorded the whole thing (as he has done 10,000 over a quarter century). The tape has been digitally cleaned up and is yours to enjoy online now for free. Make sure to share this with every single member of Gen X you know: https://t.co/aZDOE18yhX
Rory McIlroy commissioned this pencil drawing after last year's Masters Tournament.
The artist (@KeeganHall) provided context on Reddit:
• Spent 6+ months working on it
• Estimates 600-800+ total hours
• Worked on it 6-7 days each week
• Uses a Pentel Graphgear mechanical pencil
Hall says this piece was incredibly challenging because so much detail went into such a small area. For context, the original is smaller than 30x22, so each face in the crowd is essentially a quarter of the size of a fingernail.
This is the second piece he has done for Rory.
