Analilia Mejia won the New Jersey Democratic primary in the 11th District, defeating former Rep. Tom Malinowski and an AIPAC-backed candidate despite more than $2 million in outside spending. Speaking with Ryan Grim, she said voters rejected heavy-handed outside influence.

Backed by AOC, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders, Mejia focused her campaign on the rising cost of healthcare, childcare, and everyday living, pledging to break “the stranglehold that big money has on our economy and our democracy.”

She now faces an April 16 special general election, a June primary, and a November race, urging party unity to defeat “MAGA and Trumpism” while holding firm to progressive values.

Happy to share a major victory in court in the Park Ridge BOE recall case. Concerned residents got over 2,100 signatures to recall a BOE member but their petition was improperly rejected. We got the recall election back on the ballot and then won at the Appellate Division!
