Here, Here!!!
The @hillcountryride owes Hill & Laura the same gratitudes. I can’t image where the Austin cycling community would be with these amazing humans!
Hill Abell and Laura Agnew (former owners of @BSS_Austin) have been a central part of the Austin bicycling community since the early 80s. We are grateful for their generous support of the @redlineparkway and unflagging dedication to building opportunities for Austin’s cyclists!
Why are some Austin sidewalks and paths red? @KUT's ATXplained project says the answer is simple: They're for bikes and scooters. We are so glad to see these are common enough to spark questions. Hoping to see lots more around town in 2024!

@MaseDenver I’m not a big RW fan, but McGlinchey is right: #3 gets way more grief than he deserves. He’s a target, and the sideline spat hot takes exemplify it. The pundits and commentators are always ready to pounce. It was a story, but the reaction has been overblown and self-serving.
@Brewmaster_75 @AmericanFietser I’m rolling w ebike guy on this one. Cars, especially in Texas, are too big, too many, subsidized too much and generally we need to do better.
What a year! Student protests, Wider Won't Work rally, 2 City Council resolutions, 2 letters from Travis County, I-35 Town Hall, tons more electeds and groups on board, testimony, documentary film, press conference announcing the lawsuit..
I can only imagine what 2024 will bring!
For the first time, TxDOT is creating a Statewide Active Transportation Plan and they need YOUR input!
The deadline is the end of tomorrow. Take the survey now. It only takes 5 minutes and will make real impact.
