@pcdebol@MidwestGolfJake I’ve no issue with trying to make a course difficult for high level events but sometimes it gets taken too far! It’s also why you should probably trust the locals. They know their course better than anyone.
@EndiePosts@colinrtalbot My sgian dubh is real in the sense that you can take it out the sheath but you’d do more damage with a pen than my sgian dubh. But I agree it wouldn’t change my life in the slightest if I was told I can’t wear it at weddings in the future.
@Top100Rick@LouStagner I’m sure AI has its place but for me personally I work on feel. My coach will physically move me into a position so I can feel the change he’s wanting us to implement. AI can’t do that. Yet.
@Real_John_S@erobbins@korky122@LouStagner That’s kind of my thinking. From the age of about 14 I never received a shot from my dad (7 hcap) or his mates (some as low as scratch). That’s what makes you a better player!
@Alex__90210@NFLBillsWizard@Dr_DewSweep@GrumpsCrypto No, walking 18 is just part of playing golf. A workout out is stressing the body enough to cause physiological change. All I’m doing is giving examples as to why I have a point of view. Maybe it hits close to home and you’ve just realised you do this? Why else would you care?
@Alex__90210@NFLBillsWizard@Dr_DewSweep@GrumpsCrypto …of the fourball does that even 3 times in a round you’ve practically walked an extra 9 holes between you! And yes I have been stuck behind this sort of behaviour! Walking can be slow but cart path only is also horrendous for pace of play.
@Alex__90210@NFLBillsWizard@Dr_DewSweep@GrumpsCrypto I’ve seen plenty of people walking across a fairway with a couple of clubs realise they’ve not got the shot they thought they had to then walk back across the fairway to get the right club. All of a sudden the 75 yard walk there and 75 yard walk back is doubled. If each member…
@Golfnut3288@Jay_Sapovits@acaseofthegolf1 I’m assuming it’s a fairly new term or a regional term that’s starting to be used wider because I’ve played and watched golf for 35 years and this is the first time I’ve seen or heard it used.
@LouStagner@MMcEwanGolf@bunkeredgolf You’ve obviously never actually bothered to watch a clip of Laura Davies hit a golf shot if you think her doing that is any slower than pegging it up on a tee.
@Top100Rick I use a larger one when I’m well out of the way of others and fairly far from the hole. I do this so I can see it easily from the other side of the hole so I can line up my putt while others are playing to save time. I use a small one near the hole or another players line.
@Top100golfquest My phone has my GPS app on it. If it’s a course I don’t know I’ll be looking at the map on the tee and second shot to gauge distance to bunkers, hazards, etc. It might look to others like I’m texting continuously but I can assure I am not. Did you speak to him about it to clarify?
@Tljefferson23 In match play comp if a putt is conceded I’ll move the ball a couple of inches and quickly hit a putt towards the hole. Not actually trying to hole it just keep a feel for the pace of the greens. If you don’t you can sometimes go 5 or 6 holes without hitting a meaningful putt.
@coyglol@elohao20857@game_save234 It’s always possible to miss. Paul Broadhurst missed one that was barely an inch long! But if you’re playing a format of golf that allows gimmes then it’s up to your group/opponent what they’re happy conceding.
