@simk98l Something that would be nice to have in the debug is conditional breakpoints. Triggering a pause when a stack value becomes a specific value but when we don't know when it's occurring. [EN]
Finally got the text parser to work, and replaced the control codes with kana characters 😩. Now I just need to figure out newlines cause the regular characters don't work.
I'm away this weekend, but I've stumbled upon another PC-98 game I'd like to look into localising next; Nostalgia 1907.
What caught my attention was this system where you select a response then select how you emote it, and that sends you down different dialogue routes.
In 1991!
Hmm, this one might take longer than I thought. Only nameplates render Latin characters; the location label and dialogue ignore them altogether.
I've been staring at assembly code for nearly a week trying to make heads or tails of it.
@Dexerto I doubt he'll be released, at most he'll be on probation or given a yeared sentence instead of life. And public backlash won't help cause our justice system has commuted worse crimes with flimsier defences.
@Dexerto For anyone wondering, he's in a Northern Ireland prison which means two things.
First is that being on a hitlist means his family is on it as well even if he hasn't seen them in years.
And second, murders are easier to appeal here than in the rest of UK for historical reasons.
You know what we need? A tv show about fuel rats in the #EliteDangerous universe. Few space battles and background politics, but put the main focus on space truckers supplying fuel to ships that get stranded. I'd watch it.
@gabefollower By that I mean Valve licenced the OS out to PC builders and released the requirements for people to build their own computers. But pre-built gaming PCs are expensive unless you cut corners, and most advanced users at the time didn't see Linux as viable for gaming. 2/2
@gabefollower The first attempt failed because of two reasons; zero marketting and targetting advanced users.
There's many a Steam user who don't know this is the second Steam Machine attempt, and many that do know forget that it was only an OS specification and not a full product. 1/
@KenneyNL I've forgiven it for game mod covers so long as the mod itself doesn't use generative AI. If you're selling your product, the least you could do is grab a public domain image and throw a Photoshop text layer over it.
@Bit_Azure For some reason I agree with this list despite thinking the Monado is kinda mid functionally.
It's visually iconic, but in terms of lore and gameplay it plays second fiddle to the Lucky Seven from 3 or the humanoid blades from 2.
I keep coming back to this idea every couple of months and I have no idea how to go about it primarily because I can't do graphics.
The most I can do is a computer interface and abstract representations of the pieces but that feels lacking without at least some NPC portraits.
@DoctorJoeCool@ShizunaSH@sorche144 I mean it probably won't be, but the writers and the show didn't contradict each other before. RttP isn't supposed to revive people who died, but in interviews the lead writer said it can but had no opportunity to showcase it.
@ShizunaSH@sorche144 I'm not sure how I feel about that, cause I enjoyed its only season more than the cartoon's final season. Though the only (current) confirmation that it isn't canon comes from the writer of the cartoon's first 3 seasons, rather than the co-creators of both shows.
