No matter what they call it, QE is back. The Fed's balance sheet jumped by $75 billion to $3.845 trillion in the week ended 9/18. This is just the beginning, as whatever the Fed decides to call QE4, it will be much larger and more destructive than QEs 1,2, & 3 combined. Buy Gold!
If Fed officials are concerned about inflation being too low, it's not because they care about the economy (where it's the lower the better), but because they want to sustain unhealthy asset bubbles and wipe out the value of debt that borrowers are incapable of actually repaying.
If the U.S. enters a severe recession as it rebuilds its manufacturing base, transitioning from a borrow and spend to a save and produce economy, how will the government fund the multi trillion dollar annual budget deficits without foreign capital and without crowding out capex?
Julian Assange arrested in London. Ecuador removed his Sanctuary status. Will you stand by and let our government use him as an example 9f their illegal reach? At least make some fucking noise. How much noise can you make? Let me see!
@LPNational Learning and education are not the same. Learning is inherently free. Education is paying for administration and buildings. All buildings should be rented by local governments. The crux becomes the value of a mentor’s time. What is that mentor’s opportunity cost with their time?
My Twitter feed is full of partisans on the right who think the left is destroying our country and partisans on the left who think the right is destroying our country. You don’t have to think the sides are equivalent to recognize the inherent biases that cloud people’s judgments.
Both parties mislead, misdirect, employ double standards, and lie. When you point this out, each side attacks you for suggesting their team is anything like the other team. Wake up, partisans—you are a mirror image of the other side, just with different biases and blind spots.
Most Americans believe in liberty, but the collectivist ideologies of nationalism and socialism—two sides of the same coin—have been gaining traction. Both center on empowering the state to control people’s lives. These twin ideologies will dominate our future if we don’t engage.
I’m a libertarian. Neither Republicans nor Democrats are doing much good in Washington these days. I think people are increasingly looking for something altogether different.
