This is INSANE. The writer who wrote the 4.0 review of The Encore admits that he previously hated TTPD because of internet discourse but now loves it.
In no world is it acceptable to have someone review an artist they admit they can't be objective on. Even at Pitchfork.
Critics admitting that they changed their minds on TTPD makes me so so mad because those kneejerk bad reviews are the reason why we are in this mess in the first place and NOW you correctly realize it’s a masterpiece YEARS later DO YOUR JOBS PROPERLY SO TAYLOR CAN DO HERS BETTER
é inegável que é o maior hit dela nos últimos 10 anos, acho que no geral só perde pra shake It off, blank space e love story por questão do tempo. Mas se for equalizar, já é o maior sucesso que ela já teve
The Pitchfork writer who reviewed "TLOAS: The Encore" admitted that they let the media narrative obscure Taylor’s actual music, noting that they initially hated "The Tortured Poets Department" but now consider it one of her best and most interesting records. 🤔
@MorganaLeBae@iemonade those are just counting her most recent ones. Mind you she has switched genres 3 times (country, pop, & folk/alternative) and has won album of the year - the most prestigious award at the Grammys for EACH genre.
@badliar@crackgalore@iemonade Cute example. However, Taylor is quintessentially a great example as well. Not just through image but sound, thought that would’ve been obvious considering that she has switched from country to pop to folk/alternative and has won album of the year for each representative album.
LMAO. This is what I'm talking about. You're going off of personal vibes and nostalgia poisoning. By your metric, a year old song could never be as big as a 15 year old song.
By your feelings metric, Katy has never had a song as big as Love Story, even though it was never #1.
