@Genesisoflegend @fredhicks markdown is the holy grail for this stuff IMHO. It gets 95% of the stuff, and then falls-back to HTML markup if you need something special. Put a Python or JS XML parser on the other side and get the remaining 5% rather than using regexps. (Regexps are easy to mess up IMHO)
