@PJTheEconomist I went to the OXERA seminars led by Dieter in the 1980s discussing issues in electricity. Always on top of his subject. The sort of person who should be in Government.
@RetroRobson@jomickane@SamCoatesSky Now unlikely with photo ID. Once worked in a polling station where two brothers names were mixed up. Realised it was our mistake and issued ballot to second brother.
There is also a process for tendered ballots, but these are not counted.

@Wicket_Weir@MartinSLewis I'm in the position of moving existing savings into Isas. The increase of 2% on the savings tax rate makes it more worthwhile, not sure how many of us are doing this shuffle. As a retired accountant it's in my DNA I think.
@AllisonPearson To be fair it all started to go wrong when Gordon Brown was chancellor and introduced tax credits. Before then people clamoued for overtime and promotion because they could easily understand what the take home effect was.
@CeeMacBee If we were ever going to get a power cut it was going to be late afternoon on a January weekday. Its been the time of maximum demand for the last 40 years to my knowledge.
