@SimonMagus@deeharvey In terms of benefits, we could look at some of the tapered and pay in to pay out systems they have on the European continent. Probably have a lower tier system for those who do not contribute. If you offer the same you get the discincentive again.
@Cliveopener@worstall It's about the same. It's comparing apples and dinosaurs. Some benefits are limited and have qualifying factors (paid in for 5 years). Pensions have AVCs beyond the default. It's just bilge.
@worstall Don't many of these countries have AVCs that allow you to have a state pension higher than the "mandatory" one ? Like purchasing NIC years, but more of it ?
@SarahKay444806@deeharvey@SimonMagus So you'd hand over all your cash to someone who claimed to be unlucky, unfortunate or naive, would you ? Anyone can be "kind" with other people's money.
@SimonMagus@deeharvey No, because I don't donate to charities period. (There was one, that employed literally nobody at all - my mother was a support worker, unpaid for it, but it has since changed to the same racket as the others)
@Raffiatim@richyphillips@A1an_M@ZackPolanski Yep, that's what MMT claims. I know. Even if it works (which I doubt) it'll never happen. You seriously think politicians will raise taxes when there's an excess of money out there. We had this in 2005. Everyone voted for more binging.
