@AskEbay I returned a counterfeit item. The seller received it on July 3 and told me in eBay messages he’d refund me — but only if I closed my return. He then opened a case to block mine. Now it shows “closed” but I was never refunded.

It is very concerning that @theintercept is parroting the CCP’s fabricated talking points.

One thing has become very clear in the last week: TikTok is mirroring the same behavior & tactics as the CCP: silencing critics by spying on journalists & seizing the shares of critical investors; harassing members of Congress & elected officials; pushing blatant lies to the public through official channels & it’s useful idiots, etc.

This is not the behavior of a normal private company, this is the behavior of the CCP.

**We should all expect a lot more of this, especially from CCP mouthpieces like @theintercept.**

The 352 House Members voted to divest TikTok from ByreDance bc there is preponderance of evidence that clearly shows pattern of control by the CCP over TikTok.

ByteDance used TikTok to spy on US journalists; TikTok’s algorithm mirrors the CCP’s censorship & propaganda policies.

In 2018, the Chief Editor of ByteDance publicly apologized to the CCP promising to enforce “socialist values”:

I earnestly apologise to regulatory authorities… Our product took the wrong path, and content appeared that was incommensurate with socialist core values… As a start-up company developing rapidly in the wake of the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, we profoundly understand that our rapid development was an opportunity afforded us by this great era. I thank this era. I thank the historic opportunity of economic reform and opening; and I thank the support the government has given for the development of the technology industry… All along, we have placed excessive emphasis on the role of technology, and we have not acknowledged that technology must be led by the socialist core value system..”

As the TikTok data below shows, ByteDance has made good on its promise to “promote socialist values” through its products.
