@kiddrussell@joerogan Fascinating. Would just require proper programming on the flight controller and this is doable today without issue. The main advantage of this is the increased agility by adding additional degrees of freedom not found in a traditional quadcopter.
I remember that day vividly. I was living in Orlando at the time and got a call to bring a small drone to the location to see if we could fly in the house and down the hole to try and get eyes on him. By the time we got the gear ready, we got a call back saying that it was too late. ☠️

@itsAWilksWorld@dronelaws@FAADroneZone@FAANews@ASTMIntl Even if it is provided as a software update, the knowledge required to test, validate, complete and submit the Declaration of Compliance is quite extensive. Not to mention time consuming…
@dronelaws@FAADroneZone@FAANews@ASTMIntl Far worse indeed. I believe that over time there will be a more widespread adoption of RID in the industrial market but I don’t expect to see recreational FPV and hobbyists hopping onboard anytime soon.
@WattsInnov8 This is just one of many improvements coming this year to enhance our customers’ experience with our products. Super excited to have this finally rolled out!
