It is both a misfortune and a tragedy that Sharjeel Imam and Umar Khalid remain in jail. The denial of bail and the fabrication of charges are not judicial failures but deliberate signals and warnings by the regime to young Indian Muslims that even questioning them will invite the full force of the state.
But tyranny has always mistaken spectacle for strength.
When Prophet Ibrahim (AS) challenged Namrud’s false authority, Namrud responded not with truth but with spectacle. He ordered a massive fire to be built in public, a theatre of terror meant to crush dissent and frighten an entire population into submission. Yet Allah commanded the fire to be cool and safe. Ibrahim (AS) walked out unharmed, and in that moment, the fire consumed not him but Namrud’s claim to power. What was meant to terrorise instead exposed the fragility of tyranny and deepened the faith of the believers.
The continued incarceration of our people works the same way. Each passing day lays bare the regime’s fear, while strengthening all who still believe in justice, dignity, and resistance.
As Shifa ur Rehman, Meeran Haider, Mohd Saleem Khan, and Gulfisha Fatima return home, we welcome them. We honour their perseverance and wish them strength as the struggle continues.
Under the current government imprisons those who stand for good, while those who betray the country or commit rape remain free.
