WE must stop COMMERCIALIZATION OF NCA. The Authority, is too busy with commercial activities instead of their key role of supervision. The glaring growth inertia of our local contractors is in the sunlight. It is all about CPD point accumulation for license renewal - nothing else.

PEOPLE own up to 10 construction companies even more. I was once told of a Governor, now former Governor, who owned 27 construction companies all with NCA licenses. How can that be so if people at NCA do their work? People are now bidding against themselves in tenders. Reboot NCA! @ncakenya

LOOK at foreign contractors. The law requires NCA to only register those contractors with special skills, not available locally, to be transferred to the locals. Corruption opened a floodgate for foreign contractors and drowned the locals. Ask NCA @ncakenya to publish the transferred skills to date - nothing.

I KNOW a lot about NCA @ncakenya, if I speak everything there will be chaos today. Do we increase or decrease the pressure? 😂

AN AUTHORITY that has been unable to protect our local contractors from foreign contractor overreaches is at it again. This time it wants to destroy part of the local industry professional’s livelihoods. @ncakenya MUST #AmendBuildingCode to be inclusive.
NCA @ncakenya like other authorities have no power to accredit and approve professional courses, that is a function of CUE. This was the Supreme Court decision in Petition 19 of 2015 against EBK. The professionals it has left out in the building code are accredited by CUE.
They must be included. #AmendBuildingCode
#OccupyNCA
NCA @ncakenya leo tuko na nyinyi, hapa na pale mpaka jioni. I suspended all my meetings and work to broadcast your injustice and discrimination. You must amend the building code to include all professionals in the industry. This country belongs to all of us. #AmendBuildingCode
JUST like the Defects Liability Regulations 2020 that was quashed by the court, the so called National Building Code is a sham. There is nothing national in it, just the usual construction industry shenanigans to keep other professions out. Kenya ni Yetu!
#AmendBuildingcode@ncakenya
DON'T LISTEN to that nonsense of; Ooh, they can't be included because there is no regulation law. When the building code discussion began way back in 2018/2019, we raised these issues. Government had a whooping 8yrs to regulate whoever they wanted to regulate. Two, government has had 23yrs since 2001, to regulate, when it accredited the course in JKUAT. @ncakenya

THIS IS 2021, an article I wrote in the Standard. We were already hearing of rumors the building code process was being hijacked for selfish interest. I was pleading with @ncakenya to be brave for industry sake. Look what has come out. The building code must be amended. #AmendBuildingcode
YOU ARE telling us to wait for a review of building code after 5 years. Will our livelihoods and those of the many students in universities also wait for 5 yrs? @ncakenya@EngMauriceAkech#AmendBuildingCode#OccupyNCA
IN EARLY 2021, @PublicWorksKen & @ncakenya wrote to us to give our comments on the draft building code. I was in fact the Chairman then. If they can’t recognize us now in the code , why did they see it important to seek our comments? Who are these who hijacked the building code to kick out other professions in the industry?
#AmendBuildingcode #OccupyNCA
I HAVE SPENT the last 13yrs managing which includes supervision of various construction works. There are over 3,000 like myself across the country in different positions and hundreds of students in over 5 universities. Some selfish people want to take that away come early next year when building code comes to effect. A document that has been created for SELFISH gains. This country belongs to us all. @ncakenya
