Fixed dents, sanded rust, repainted and rewired this old Motorola speaker I picked up at a recent Hamfest for ($3.00)….. It looked terrible when I got it but now looks and sounds sweet! (colors used are Matte Black, Matte Spanish Moss & Earth Brown)

Had some time for POTA today K-0642 Natchez Trace / Rocky Springs. Used a new portable radio setup and it performed great! I built it using a cutting board from Big Lots, some grab handles from Home Depot & for transport it all fits snugly in a Harbor Freight rugged Apache box!

@shotofjagur @N4JAW Bag is meant to be a range bag. But I've repurposed it for radio. Might be a little difficult to tell but I also have two Dakota Lithium 12v 10Ah batteries running in parallel sitting in the bottom of the backpack in that picture.

@shotofjagur @N4JAW Brand is Tactical Performance. it was purchased at Academy Sports awhile back. It has four removable pouches that I use to store my antenna, throw line gloves and other odds and ends. I also use the pouches to put under the front of the cutting board to adjust the viewing angle.

Setup today at Rocky Springs Campgrounds on Natchez Trace Parkway K-0642. Made 70 qso’s on 20 meters in a relatively short amount of time. I could definitely tell when I got spotted….. the calls came in like a tsunami.

@ChrisRismiller Thank you! Made it with leftover cabinet wood and sprayed with camo rattle can paint. Turned out pretty nice. The whole setup is a little on the heavy side but I’m not carrying it far from where I park so it’ll work OK.

6 meter grids worked so far... If anyone wants to schedule a contact from a grid that I'm missing please let me know. SSB, FT8 or Q65.... (fyi... most all of these have been accomplished with a M2 3elem yagi on a 30' push-up pole & turned with a Radio Shack TV rotator)
