18-year-old keeper-batter Thomas Rew has received his first England call-up for the upcoming T20I series in Australia.

Seen as one of England’s brightest young talents, Rew made his senior T20 debut for Somerset in May 2025, before hitting England Under-19s’ fastest Youth ODI century, off 73 balls, against India the following month.

His first-class debut came for England Lions on last winter’s tour of Australia, before he led his country to the Under-19 World Cup final in February. In three County Championship appearances, he has scored two hundreds.

His older brother, James, also a Somerset keeper-batter, made his Test debut for England against New Zealand at The Oval in June.

In franchise cricket, he has already played for Southern Brave in the Hundred and has been signed by Paarl Royals in the SA20.

If he debuts against Australia, he will become England’s second-youngest debutant in men’s T20Is, behind only Rehan Ahmed 👏
